One in four Americans has a criminal record, and a criminal record can be a big obstacle to employment.  (Source:  ACLU of Washington State.) 

Guest presenters will be from Pioneer Human Services.

Hilary Young, VP of Policy and Communications
Michael Murphy, Project Manager for Mission Services
and Two clients who have graduated from program

Discussion will cover:
  • what Pioneer offers clients, when to refer, for what
  • the #1 problem clients face as job seekers
  • reemployment reality for many clients as many will have to start over in new fields
  • what training is available at PHS to overcome hurdles, develop skills and build self-esteem
  • what PHS recommends to clients for their resumes, cover letters and interviews, including common mistakes
  • how clients can best position themselves to enter/reenter the workforce
  • and answers to our questions
