President: Jill Walser

Jill provides resume writing, interview coaching and job search strategy coaching for job seekers at all levels. Until she left the corporate world to run her business full-time, she worked as a corporate recruiter for an eCommerce company. Jill enjoys playing word games, communing with nature and nurturing a love for art glass. She and her son live in Bellevue.

President-elect and Membership Chair: Angie Engel, MA

Angie assists Central Washington University’s Westside students and alumni and with their career development needs including career assessment, interviewing, job-finding assistance, internship development and resume preparation.  She also teaches the Career Management (UNIV 301) class.

Angie graduated from the University of Central Florida with a Master of Arts degree in Higher Education Student Personnel.  She previously served as an academic and career counselor at the University of Central Florida and Valencia and Brevard Community Colleges. 

She has served as a volunteer leader with many community agencies, such as Keep Orlando Beautiful, the UCF Alumni Volunteers and the Society of St. Andrew Hunger Relief Gleaning Program.

Treasurer: Kaye Gates, MSW

Kaye’s career encompasses over 14 years as a career specialist in college and high school settings, as well as social work case management and volunteer program coordination. She is certified as a trainer for the MBTI and Strong Interest Inventory. Recently retired, she is eager to pursue her personal renaissance by learning Spanish, working with community projects, learning to play her autoharp, reading widely and catching up with friends. She lives in Issaquah with her husband, Peter.

Board Member: Halimah Bellows, MA, MS, CCC, CRC

For more than 20 years, Halimah has been helping her clients champion their careers, find their ideal jobs or retire with fire. She is the author and creator of Career Quest Cards, which is a portable, practical and unique tool for helping people find a career that is right for them. She is a seasoned career counselor, and coach, as well as an educator and educational planner for colleges and non-profits on the West Coast.

Halimah is an experienced workshop presenter and group facilitator. She has led many seminars and retreats for a variety of educational, religious, non-profit and corporate institutions. She holds an MS in Counseling Psychology and is a Certified Retirement and Professional Coach. Halimah has appeared as a guest on a number of local radio talk shows in the Pacific Northwest.

In addition to assisting people through career transitions and supporting retirees to “retire with fire”, she also focuses on helping couples and business partnerships build powerful intentional relationships as well as empowering artists, entrepreneurs and professionals to develop their businesses and achieve their dreams.

Trustee: Kate Duttro, D.Ed

Dr. Kate Duttro worked for more than a decade as a career counselor and coordinator at the University of Washington. Retiring recently, she established her private practice as a career consultant and coach, specializing in helping academics (from grad students to post docs and adjuncts) to work in careers based on the strengths they excel at and love to use. She also teaches the distance learning course necessary for certification as Career Development Facilitator, for the National Career Development Association and NECA.

Kate writes for Job-Hunt.org and the Career thought Leader blog, as well as her own blogs, CareerChangeforAcademics.com and SeattleCareerTrainer.com. She co-authored Seattle Job Source and edited the Career Planning and Adult Development Journal’s special issue on the Influence of Bernard Haldane on Career Development. Her earlier careers include teaching at Penn State and James Madison University, anthropological work in Central and South America, freelance writing/editing, sheep farming and work in economic development. She earned her academic degrees at Penn State University. Kate is a member of the National Career Development Association, the Puget Sound Career Development Association (and past president), the Career Planning and Adult Development Network, and Career Directors International.

Past President: Kris Kero, MS

Kris's passion and career interests have focused on working with and empowering adults in transition to discover and achieve their goals. For over 15 years she has been a successful career consultant, counselor, employee training specialist and program developer. She has an M.S. in Counseling and teaching certification. She is certified to administer the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) and is a Dependable Strengths Articulation Process facilitator. Kris has worked for Boeing, Bank of Hawaii, Bank of America, United Way, University of Washington and AtWork.
